Saint George, who lived around the year 304, was a Christian from Israel who courageously served in the Roman army until the Emperor turned against Christians. One of the most famous stories of Saint George is when he bravely defeated a fearsome dragon threatening a village in Libya, saving both the sheep and children from its wrath. In return, the grateful king bestowed riches upon George, which he selflessly gave to the less fortunate.
